Lets try the slowly sipping tea mindfulness exercise.
Find a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed.
Brew a cup of tea, it can be as simple as taking a tea bag and adding it to a cup of hot water.
Now bring all your attention to the cup of tea.
Be grateful that you have a warm cup of tea in front of you when millions suffer in the cold in many parts of the world and many others are thirsty for a drink.
Now watch the cup, the colour of the tea with focus and presence.
Notice the colour of the tea itself.
Bring the cup closer to your lips.
Breathe in the aroma. Notice it. what does it feel or smell like.
Whenever some thoughts appear in your mind, notice them and come back to the cup of tea.
Now slowly sip the tea.
Feel the taste, the texture on your tongue and roll it over in your mouth.
Noticing it fully take the sip in fully.
Keep the cup down all the while keeping your focus and attention on the cup of tea.
Everytime the mind jumps into a different space bring it back.
Slowly sip the tea.
Enjoy every sip.
As you practice this you will become more mindful, more grateful, more present.
Many great monks and meditators have used this technique to master their wandering mind.
Mindfulness and happiness.
